How many other Clio RS200 owners on here?

Thanks for that info - very helpful. Pretty expensive in terms of trim level & quality - will definitely make up for it in smiles though. Bit cautious of the recaros as there are many examples of heavily worn side bolsters after not many miles. The one I sat in at the Geneva motorshow suffered from this also. The servicing package is also very appealing.
Compared with the rest of the range, yes, a bit more expensive but compared with the other cars in this sector-an absolute bargain. Don't forget, the 200 Cup is supposed to be basic. For more creature comforts, a 200 is the best bet and frankly, in most day to day driving situations, you won't notice that much difference without the Cup chassis (twisty bit driving is another matter though, as you do get slightly quicker steering too) performance isn't really affected as there is only 37kg difference between the two. Recaro seat bolster wear is an issue with every manufacturer who uses this seat but is a warrantable item in many circumstances. Even if you have to have them done yourself, they are a very easy swap (essentially zip up covers) Edited by TVR1 on Sunday 20th March 12:57

The thing is, RS cars should have 'a buying experience' attached to the buying process. Now I can understand using a drivethedeal type website for mainstream stuff but for probably only a few hundred pounds more you can have a dealership experience that for once, you can really enjoy.
Agreed, and the chap at the dealer I test drove a Clio 200 at said the same thing. Unfortunately back then, lead time was big so got an R26.R instead. My current smoker and now sold and going tomorrow, so I won't get the chance to photograph again, if any one is interested? Only because Nimbus looks far better in real life. Many people get this confused with the battleship grey (which looks great in the flesh too BTW) Changing to an RS200 Gordini without Recaros but hey ho,the tribulations of the motor trade! Cup chassis, nav etc but with quilted red leather (black is the factory option but red is an authorised dealer fit item) Hope you likey?......And yes, that is a parking ticket but there is also a residents permit too! traffic wardens in west London can't seem to read

5 - low seat height, adjustable steering wheel and pedals that make heel n toe a joy............. A. Not a low seat by any means unfortunately, s/wheel adjusts ok, pedals pretty good, quite close
+1I have a 200 Cup. I love the car but thought the high seating position really let it down: I felt I sat ON the car rather than IN it. Also the steering wheel was too far away. Therefore I had new seat frames fabricated to fit the OE Recaro's, now I'm sitting almost 2" lower (lost the height adjustment, but I'm not bothered). I also had a steering wheel hub modified to use on the OE steering wheel (airbag still working) in order get my preferred position. I now have the seating position I like (low, with the steering wheel closer) while retaining the OE look of the car. It wasn't cheap, but a very worthwhile modification since I think a good seating position is the most important thing if you want to track the car at its max.
If anyone is interested I could make and post some pics and give you the address of the guys that made the seat frames and the hub.

I think a Clio coupe based on the same chassis would be cool. I think the roofline is too high and even though I'm 6'8" I find there is loads of space above my head.

Me too, 300 to go. Where are you going for your service ?????
Really not sure yet, I want to take it to a RenaultSport specialist but want to stay as local as possible. I'd like to use Renault London West but they are just too far for just a service...Mine ticked over 11,600 miles today so ill be reading up on owners experiences on the RenaultSport forums.
Do you have any ideas where you'll be going?

I'm 6'2", but it isn't about headroom. A low seating position gives (me) a far better feel for the car on track, it gives less strain on your body and it improves the centre of gravity quite considerably. Have a look under your Recaro's, there's almost enough space to store groceries! If I have some spare time over the weekend I'll take some pics and (try) to post them.I think a Clio coupe based on the same chassis would be cool. Lee, and anyone else in the South-East/North Kent looking for their 1st service I rang all my local dealers today and have booked in with Davis of Sevenoaks. Heres why.
Orpington Renault £219
Maidstone Renault £230
Lifestyle Tonbridge £242
Lifestyle Ton.Wells £210
Davis Sevenoaks £178
Davis originally quoted me £238 but took off £50 after a little chat with Jack in service.

Cheers Martin, shamefully the wheels are still on my to do list, although I have seen some photos on Clio197.net of black 5 spokes and I wasn't as pleased as I thought I would be...Yep, all serviced now and running like a new car after the oil change
TVR meet sounds good, long overdue for me... Im in Munich til the Monday / Tuesday but should be back in time.
