What gears are notchy?

When it was below freezing a few weeks ago mine took some effort to get into first and second when cold. Loosened up once the gearbox had some tempreture in it though... now the weather has warmed up slightly everything seems fine. Mine has done nearly 8000mls now.

I would keep an eye on it over the next week (or until it gets a bit warmer) if its still a problem then just book it into your main dealer explaining the problem, just say you need it done under warrenty.

The cold notchy gearboxes are common on the 197, so assuming its probably the same design, it may be nothing to worry about. Mins fine (197) after a few gear changes.

Having said that, the gearbox has been know to be a week link on the 197/200 so no harm in getting it checked at Renault if it gets any worse.

Thanks guys.

The weather has improved (slightly) but it's still doing it. It's every gear until warmed up.

It is strange that it only started to happen in the last week or so when previously we were getting sustained sub zero temps and it was fine.

I'll see what its like in the next couple of days and then book it in if it doesn't improve.

Hi tonylal, nice couple of cars you have there. I see you are in Surrey, do you fancy joining the convoy to Oxford leaving from Guildford Cathedral? It is made up largely of RenaultSports (12 so far of which 1 is a V6 and 6 are Clio200's).

Rather than stick to the boring motorways we will be taking the country route along some nice A and B roads.

Add you name to the list in the thread if you want to join us (link below).

Hope to see you there.

Taken with my rubbish Nokia camera but you get the idea. I have not seen a white one yet with these on - could be a reason for that - but I like them !

Looks good.

Im going to order some in...... Red! Do you have a link to where you got them? The only ones I've seen on Ebay were about £60!

Just had delivered some 3M Carbon Fibre Vinyl that I am gonig to wrap the center consol and dash trims with.

Also got some 3M Gloss Black Vinyl that I am going to wrap the front and rear badges, door handle's and side strips. Cheaper than painting so if I dont like it I've only wasted £8.

Just need to order some black mirror covers now...

Im going to start on the dash tonight so will stick some photos up once its finished.

Put this in the search box on fleabay." Renault Clio Sport Flag Side Sticker Decals "
will come up with a seller who has a K and an M in his name also the word vinyl I believe (trying not to break PH rules and get banned again !)

Cost me £6.99. If you put them on then changed your mind its not the end of the world. They do a number of colours too. Not sure about red though lee eek still, may look good once they are on.

Thanks - I have not done any tracks with my Vee, done some in my previous 197 CUP and Megane R26R, mainly locally at Brands Hatch. Dont fancy getting sideways in the vee as I would run out of talent. The Clio 197
was fantastic and as soon as the 200 is run in I plan to do a few more. The Vee has done 1000 miles in a year and the RS200 is now on 500 miles after 5 months use...as I have a company car for day to day use. Yep, the neighbours love me. Company car is a white BMW 335i saloon with full WTCC graphics...BMW demo car.

Did you have a supercharger or turbocharger, and what brand? What about the warranty implications?

Getting ours in a couple of weeks.

Quick question - why do some have front badges (RS) and others not while some say RenaultSport on the back wgile others have a smaller badge?

Can't remember what ours says...

The RS badge on the front was introduced about a year after launch.

If you're getting a brand new car it'll have the front badge.

Probably the same time changes were made to the rear badge too smile

Ours is a 59 plate with 1,000 miles on the clock. Just waiting for the previous owner's reg to come off and ours to go on. From the images I have of the car and memory, I think it has the RenaultSport on the rear and no front badge.

Just been on the trader and seen that 59 plates all have the old style and it just seems like the change was made from 10 plates onwards.
