I have a few issues with my GTC (2011 model) which includes corrosion of the alloy wheels and the screw fixings on the lower front grille. Any other owners suffered similar problems?

On a 2010 vehicle this just simply should not happen, then factor in this is a Bentley and I think I would have a sense of humour failure . The grill screw is simple down to a poor quality screw in to the plastic of the bumper. A suggestion could be made on the wheels regarding either Salt from the roads which they should be resistant to or TFR a chemical used often by hand car washes to clean wheels which I have seen on a number vehicles the lacquer starting to corrode from the underside due to this from hand car washes. Regardless on a vehicle of this age and quality it should not happen.

Thanks for the response. The screws have been changed 3 times by Bentley in the first 15 months. The rear wheels were changed after 7 months for a similar problem. The front wheels were changed last August and I will be keeping a close eye on these.
Bentley consider these minor warranty issues. I consider them completelt unacceptable and perhaps an indication that there is something more fundamentaly wrong with the car.
The chrome tail pipes are also heavily pitted despite my efforts to keep them clean.
The car has only done 8000 miles and not been exposed to heavy road salt. I have also not used any specialist cleaners as the car had the full supagard system applied.

Well, they're just a posh VW, and I can safely say 'they all do that, sir'.

I've had a warranty claim for wheel corrosion on both my current and last 2 VW company hacks.

Did you get them replaced or repaired under warranty?
This maybe a posh VW, but at £161k new such things should not happen.
I have viewed dozens of other Bentleys to try and find similar defects to those on my car but so far not found any.

They replaced the last couple, as the factory finish is nigh-on impossible to replicate.

One would think the dealer would have popped over to B&Q or Screwfix by now and got some Stainless ones in stock.

Pretty poor materials spec & QC from Bentley using screws like that.

I wouldn't be at all happy about that and presumably the dealer agreed otherwise they wouldn't have changed the screws. The wheels shouldn't be showing that sort of corrosion either, but the dealer might try wriggling a bit more with them as they could suggest that there could be numerous contributory factors, even if you know there aren't.

As has already been suggested, a few pennies worth of decent stainless screws should do it, which shouldn't be beyond the capabilities of a decent workshop. You might expect to do it yourself on an older car, but not on one of that age. Poor spec. original material.

Accepting that it is a VW group product, I wouldn't be happy with that on a Polo of the same age, let alone a GTC.

Don't go to screwfix. I went for some "O" rings and the man said Yes they had them in boxes of 247!!!

Maybe the 'full supagard system' is not helping, or even creating an issue?
