Good morning,

as a new member in this forum let me just introduce myself: Frank from Berlin, since 4 weeks owner of an 2002 Arange T ... glad to have found a "lively" forum for Bentley cars here.

According to the OBD, the passenger presence detection (PDD) has a fault. These are the options I have alreday checked:

1. Go to Bentley Service: yes, sure, they can help. However, since some time, they have taken the single mat from their spare parts list ... as a consequence, they do not sell single PDD mats, but only whole seats at appr. 4k€ ... I wouldn't like to comment on this.
2. Do nothing and go on driving ... possible, but in the case of an accident, the whole airbar system won't work ... not a very calming idea.
3. Pulling out the PDD mat - it comes from the Luxemburg based IEE company, Model Typ PPD 2261, S/N 09590096975. Contacting IEE and ordering a new mat is not possible so far, they seem to work only for OEMs.
4. Looking out for a common part from BMW: we have checked several mats from BMW (E39, E46 and several others). None of them is identical. The most similar one, from the E39, leads to the fault "wrong restriction value".
5. Looking out for a simulator: not successful so far

So here is my question:

Has anyone in the forum had the same problem and found a sound solution (except for replacing the whole seat)?
Any other ideas what could be done?
Has anyone a mat without defaults left?

Thanks in advance & best regards, Frank

Long shot, have you tried Rolls Royce for one for a Silver Seraph?

You could try contacting one of the Bentley breakers . . . .they may be happy to sell you just the part, or a seat base
