The interior colour is 'Magnolia Blue Piped Leather Upholstery' with blue lambswool over rugs. As for the phone, then if that's the case that's great, I have what was originally there. Thank you!

Sublime car in one of my favourite colour combos. cloud9

One of the great mysteries of PH is why do people feel the need to quote someone's entire opening post? banghead

I take her out as and when I can, money for fuel permitting. I'd give my eye teeth to afford to use her as an everyday car. I would dearly love to use her for my journey's to hospital, but as each round trip is around 464 miles, it's completely unaffordable. I've come to learn that in life we can't have everything.

I insure her for 5,000 miles per year (the difference between 3k & 5k miles was only £15.00 more), but do nothing like that, in fact in the last 12 months she travelled 1,745 wonderful miles.

My girlfriend has life membership of the National Trust, so we go to Tesco and buy a £3.00 meal deal each, put them into a wicker picnic hamper and go out for the day to a NT property. Wonderful. We usually grab a coffee and piece of cake whilst there and buy some freshly baked bread made on the premises.

It all makes for an enjoyable and memorable day.

We visted a NT property on Anglesey last year and there was a Bentley Blower in the car park, so we parked up near to it, then another vintage Bentley parked up too. Beautiful day....WOW!

A wonderful example of a column selector Turbo R + good to read you enjoy taking her out and the pleasure she gives you.

We have one of the last column selector Turbo Rs (L version) - approaching 170,000 miles driving

As a one time Bentley employee I salute you. Your passion for your car is shared by those who designed and built it! It was a happy place to work.

Lovely post waffa. I rather stupidly considered parting with my 90 Turbo R too, due to costs & circumstance. Luckily I didn't get a sniff, not even a derisory offer. Thank God. Your relationship with Hattie says it all, I'm just the same with 'Ballers'. Sell him? WTF was I thinking? Madness!

Beautiful car. My old one is for sale again and this thread has got me tempted to buy it back.

Hello BG. For obvious reasons I'm so pleased to read you still have 'Ballers'. Long may she remain one of your family.

Hello Stain. May I be so bold as to encourage you to buy her back?

The curtain is up, the lights are on and the orchestra are playing, but there is no encore, ever. So enjoy every moment.....It's definately what 'Hatty' and I intend to do.

'Hatty' helping to raise money for Breast Cancer Care in September last year. A 'Lady' helping other ladies. Makes sense to me.

'Hatty' resplendent with pink ribbon, arriving at an open air Alice in Wonderland themed Breast Cancer Care Strawberry Tea last September. She was driven to the event by my girlfriend who is a survivor. In 'Hatty' were The Mayor of the town, Miss Alice (dressed in a specially commissioned one off pink dress in support of the charity), The Mad Hatter and Queen Victoria. My thanks to David R for the picture. A very poignant picture in several ways.

Waffagolf;

Great thread. Great car. I'm now on my fourth Turbo R and, had it not been for my slow-as-molasses mechanic (unfortunately, the only RR specialist in the city--but he's good) I'd have been enjoying her quite much by now. In any case, your picnic trip to a NT property sounds exactly like what I'd love to do in either of my Bentleys. Sadly, I know of no equivalent type 'venues' here in Cincinnati, Ohio frown

I'm glad you had no luck in selling. Your Turbo R is part of the Pistonheads furniture. An update of the 2CV in Readers Rides is long overdue btw.

OP - a great thread about a great car. It's great to see someone so appreciative of what they've got. I hope you have many years of happy motoring ahead smile

Love my 97 Turbo RT. Long wheel base, so acres of room in the back. Black with black interior, red piping and pinstripe. Goes like a rocket, but cruises like concorde.

All neccessary work has now been successfully completed on 'Hatty' including full service and M.O.T., I'm in the process of polishing her (half way through now), then I shall look forward to enjoying her company during the summer months and beyond. It's amazing how theraputic it can be looking after her, keeping her in the customary manner. FOOTNOTE:- I found the reset button for the central locking last week....Result!

Underneath the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel and above the area of the footbrake. One press and it resets the central locking system.
