Some advice would be good. New expansion tank fitted, system pressurised and kept overheating. Have a really reliable honest classic car guy locally ans he says that exhasut gas is getting into the cooling system and pressurising. This is stopping the thermostat opening as its full of gas. System overheats. Someones ksealed the rad about ten times so that was powerwashed through. Says it needs the head doing.

It ran with no temp issue for thr first few months. New header system pressurised . Bang.

Is this definately a leaking head or could the kseal screw the rad. He has had a sensor in the header and detected gas so im clutching at straws really. Im in a bit deep hear and would appreciate some advice on what to do. Ive spent a fortune on tyres, ball joints, bottom arms, gearbox flush etc, all electrics overhauld. Underneath the vehcile is corrosion free. Bodyworks roughbut that was next on. The budget list, not head replaced! Its an89 turbo r pretty. Ful History .

Any advice greatly appreciated. The mechanic has been great i am simply asking advice from many other bentley owners.

If combustion gas is entering the cooling system it can only be via the head gasket. How would you know exactly how many times "someone" attempted sealer as a repair?

These engines often suffered a slight loss of coolant via the head gaskets and a factory bulletin stated that two Barrs Leaks pellets be added when the coolant was changed. That however is entirely different to the system pressurising, a symptom that requires immediate attention.

With a serious, engine issue, and rough bodywork you have an expensive journey ahead of you.
