Would anyone know which model car phone might have been installed from new in my car? (Continental R 1996)

The cabling is all still there, but the handset has been removed from the centre storage box.

Reason is, I want to re-install, even if it doesn't actually work. Crazy I know!

More than likely a Nokia or a Motorola (I think all phones around that time were Nokia/ or Motorola)

Would have been a Motorola 8900 you need the later SIM card reader to work with current network systems

Does anyone know which Nokia model was fitted on the 97 model? i know there are lots of different phones that were fitted, but this car has the Nokia holders already.
Any idea on model number.

Have a look at what I wrote above, standard fitment was Motorola, your car will have been adapted at some point as at that model year Nokia weren't fitted at all.

Its my understanding that quite a variety of different brand phones were offered/ available, perhaps as dealer options.
From info on the RR/B forum, there are members who have Panasonic, Motorola and Nokia set ups, on late model Turbos.

A telephone wired into the car?

How very vulgar, one's man is there to perform telephone calls for one.

I was selling these cars when they were new and the 97 & 98 models came with a phone fitted as standard or had what was called provision so the wiring, aerial were there and the fittings in the armrest and the boot to take a Motorola handset and transceiver, to the best of my knowledge and recollection no other units were ever offered at that time. What dealers fitted as options probably came later as technology changed as did owners requirements.
