yeah I know, car seat was origionaly for our eldest and Isofix base in my Range Rover

Well done though. I wanted to bring our son home in the Elise, but wife wouldn't allow it as no ISOfix.

Plus she'd have had to get the bus!

ISOFIX no safer than belt fix, rather more convenient and less open to user (mong) error.

Surely a system that stops the seat moving entirely is safer than one that allows a small amount then SNAP stops it?

Nope. I follow your logic but having been through it recently there's no difference. It's just that 70% of belt fixed are installed incorrectly that leads to the statistical danger.

In fact I cant be sure from the pic but it looks as though there may be a twist in the belt concerned...
