Has anyone fitted the CF Mulliner body kit (front spoiler, side skirts and rear diffuser) them selves at home?
Could I have some advice on what is involved. Looking at the parts in the kit it does look pretty straight forward for a competent DIY project.

It took 2 attempts by Cheltenham to get the CF body kit fitted to my CGT Speed correctly. Rear diffuser kept parting company from the rear valance, so I think its a bit tricky.

Maybe that's why the factory now fit the body kit as standard to latest CGT's.

Oh, and Bentley supplied 2 x L/H CF mirrors first time.

It may need the extra strong body tape that you can buy off Tapes Direct for a stronger fix than factory supplied tape. I have used this as a substitute for the Porsche tape on my wife's Cayenne sill covers, which 'cried enough' during all that heavy rain last winter. Remember those floods?

Good Luck!

Thanks Hog 1, I think I might use some Stickaflex (the stuff for bonding in windscreens), along with the tape.
When you stick something with this it tends not to fall off.....

I'm hoping the rear bumper doesn't need to come off to fit the diffuser.

I'm not doing the mirrors, it appears to be a big job, door panels off etc.

I don't think that the rear bumper needs to be removed but the original rear fibre undertray does need to come off and is then surplus to requirements.
I would not recommend using the adhesive, as you may one day want to remove the spoilers for repair or a repaint.
Tape can be desolved and surfaces cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol but windscreen sealant, I think not.
Also, you do not want to apply something which interacts with the CF layer.

I'm only talking about a few thumb nail sized spots, just to give the body tape some help. I'm not going to gob it all the way along. I have used this stuff for years and never had a problem, it's easily cut with nylon string and the residue cleans off with panel wipe and a bit of elbow grease.

Sika AGR products are what I use, and despite various offers from other manufacturers/suppliers I will not switch.

If you are planning on using the windscreen PUR adhesive, you will need to use an adhesion promoter/degreaser/primer.

After some deliberation, I decided against attempting to stick the body kit.
I have got stuck in and fitted the parts with the holes drilled and the additional securing bolts.
To date only the front splitter and lower outside front grille winglets fitted.
fairly straight forward once you have the instructions for bumper removal etc.

It's not as much as that, about half that figure I believe, but I didn't do the mirrors or rear spoiler cover.

I believe the dealer fitting time estimate is approx 13 hours, which would put the price up quite a bit, that's why I did it myself.

It all worked out fairly straightforward, well within the capabilities of any competent hobby mechanic with basic hand tools.

Once I drilled the first hole it was easy................

I did need a helper to remove and refit the rear bumper and I also had the bumper clip removal tools.

If anyone else is interested in doing it themselves, give me a PM.

I'm very interested but I'm not paying £7k for a carbon kit, hopefully they will supply the new fibre glass kit soon.

The 15MY Speed & V8s have a very similar body kit factory fitted, but it's body colour painted plastic.
It should be quite a bit less than the CF kit.

Hi Ted191

the new body kit isn't plastic or fiber glass it's painted carbon.

If you're interested I have for sale either a brand new carbon mulliner front splitter and rear diffuser or a full carbon kit consisting of a front splitter, rear diffuser and sills which are primed ready to be body coloured.

Both of the above come with all factory fittings.

If you'd like pictures and prices please PM me.

The 15MY body kit on the V8S is not colour coded - it is Beluga regardless of your chosen colour, along with the mirrors.

I had the bumper removal tools and the tape showing where the clips are, it did help a bit.

What's the latest Ted, have you got your body kit on yet?

Here is a few pictures of mine finished, I also added the Speed wing badges and the dash badge, I never liked the W12 badges on there.
