I kind of agree about the Mulsanne - it looks fantastic, like a proper big fast Bentley saloon following the tradition started with the Turbo.

But, when I had a look at one in the flesh, it was really rather conventional and ordinary and it was a real disappointment. Close your eyes and open the door, and you could be stepping into an Audi - it doesn't fulfil the sensory experience like the older cars, and I think on a £250K car, it needs to.

I have to say that in many ways I agree: while I enjoyed my drive in the Mulsanne far more than in the Flying Spur Speed that I tried the same day, and its performance was very impressive (if not as good as the FSS), I was not unhappy when I got back into my Turbo R to drive home. So I shan't be laying out £250K any time soon!!

Sorry but I disagree, there is no way that it feels like 'stepping in to an Audi'.
I feel that driving and being driven in a Mulsanne really does feel like a proper Bentley of the old tradition.
In my opinion, the Mulsanne has pently of power / torque but I will have to try a test in the Speed version (when the weather improves)............

I've just got my invitation for the Bentayga depositors preview day with a stipulation that cameras and phones have to be left with security.
Have these guys have not seen the spy shots taken around Crewe?
Could be an interesting afternoon.

We saw one out testing t'other week, when driving back south from Oulton Park - ugly as sin!
Test car had a sort of fake rear light cluster (or a wrap made to look like rear lights) as you could see them shining through.
Sure it will sell in bucketloads to footballers, mind.

Well that does look just like a big Audi. Is it the Q7? The yummy mummys use them round here for collecting Jocasta and Tarquin from school.

As many will know, but some may be surprised - it's not the first 4x4 off roader to wear the Bentley badges:
