Hi

Has anyone successfully changed the head unit in an Arnage? Mine is a 2002 T. I'm thinking that a replacement head unit will allow Bluetooth connection for audio playback and also hands free for the phone. It would be good to learn of any experiences or recommendations you may have

Many thanks
Mark

I also have a 2002 Arnage T. I updated my Sat Nav to an Alpine M300p which can update its maps via the internet. Mine already had a telephone which works.

I also have a 1989 BMW 635 CSI and that only had a casstte/radio player. I bought a Clarion NZ502e which has everything. Touch screen satnav, ipod connectivity, Phone connectivity camera, videos and cost £575

It is a one din system so it should fit in place of the existing radio. It has a pop out screen so you need to check that the screen will not foul anything but you can adjust the angle of the screen. When the screen is retracted it is very unobtrusive but you also need to check that the veneered cover will still shut

Thanks for the suggestion - I too wondered if the screen would clear the open cover. I was also told by someone that the OEM unit is bigger than a single DIN and a trim panel needs to be made up if I use a single DIN head. I'll take a run down to a specialist audio place in the next few days and share any useful findings.

I have also upgraded the SatNav unit, but I think for an earlier one than the M300p as I can't update OTW, but works much better that the original and still uses the original remote, the most quirky and irritating way I have ever had to control a SatNav!

I agree about the remote. For a reasonable continental trip I have to spend about a day sitting in the car pre programming the destinations. Once they are in it is a brilliant system but cannot compete with a touch screen for set up. It also has the sexiest female voice. I drove around a roundabout three times in Switzerland just to hear her saying "Basle" a few times !!!
