Spotted an almost undisguised Bentayga on the M6 on Saturday. Apologies for the less than decent photography, but thought they might be of interest. It's not my cup of tea, looks a bit generic Cayenne/Q7 to me.

I agree. It looks disappointingly like any number of large 4x4s. Perhaps it will look better fully uncovered. It's certainly not shouting Bentley at me in those photos.

Maybe they should do a straight tiger not a bent one

Yes, it does look dreadfully generic.

Like going to an independent country house hotel, only to discover the rooms are just like a chain hotel with contract furniture.

Looks like a cayenne / Range Rover mix sadly, but if it's designed in a wind-tunnel and those are its competitors, that's all I'd expect (with a Bentley face on the front). I think my 10 year old could have come up with a similar car using photoshop.
I expect the inside will be "handcrafted by artisans..." I wonder if it's a hybrid?

Should anyone be interested, I was along side this 4x4 on the bypass this morning; went for a few mile blast together; was surprised by the power, was accelerating as quickly as my Golf GTi (mk7) so a fair lick for the size and no doubt weight of the thing; plus it was fully loaded with passengers too.

I don't doubt that. For all its potential shortcomings in the looks/image department I'm sure Bently will make sure it's not lacking in BHP.

Looks a lot like a Q7 / Cayenne to my eyes, the platform sharing with Audi is quite apparent. Whilst the original concept was a bit off, at least it had something to it, an idea of creating something special. I think they must have been spooked by the bad public reaction and have just gone ultra conservative for the final design.

will probably buy the model car featured but couldn't see myself buying real thing , too much of a mongrel but then I think the Conti. Flying spur is just a posher Phaeton and prefer the Phaeton for its purity - its not a vw trying to be a Bentley !

Honestly, I preferred the EXP 9F - it was a few tweaks away from being decent - this is just awful.
