That looks like the wood trim has been enhanced?

What do we think about the shooting brakes? I like them. Fabulous family wagon for the price of a dull German box.

The rear hatch aperture seems 'unresolved' in the sealing department. hehe

A Silver Shadow station wagon conversion recently sold for nearer GBP 60,000, so I suspect the estimate on this rare (unique?) T2 Station Wagon is a little low....

It seems I'm now one of them.

I had been considering Shadows and Corniches for a while, a bit of an unexpected sale of another car left a space....I saw an apparently nice Shadow with a dead engine, as it happens fixing up poorly engines is a favoured past time of mine.

For me, big comfy car with soft ride is paramount, so I expect the Shadow to be a good match for me.

To answer the original question, I think I'm 'real enthusiast' rather than 'entry level buyer'.

Top one.

I'm looking for the real enthusiasts - is there a community other than the ones mentioned?

I was looking out for a nice Silver Shadow II as my father had four of them (one Shadow I followed by three Shadow II) so if I had bought one it would have been as an enthusiast.

In the end I stumbled on a Silver Spur II Mulliner Edition and its special features outweighed the fact I prefer the look of the Shadow.

My brother in law has owned his 1980 Shadow 11 for must be going on 25 years with less than 45,000 miles on the clock. I've driven it many times. It is a timeless classic. But I much prefer my Bentley Turbo R. The gentlemans club interior that packs a wallop and will go around corners. Once described as a tidal wave on wheels.

I'm delighted with it.

It was delivered on Thursday morning at 6am and I hadn't seen it in the daylight until today. Its really in great shape, just needs an engine!

A chum came round and we managed to push it into the manshed where I can get on with fixing it up.

Unfortunately the drivers door lock is suffering a malfunction and I can't unlock and open the door. Not quite sure how I am going to resolve that. It won't open from inside or outside. It did first thing this morning, I locked it and now its broken. Old cars eh, who'd have one.
