One of my friends has just bought a Bentley GTC, when he purchased it the battery was quite flat and he didn't test the roof.

It turns out the roof only goes half way back before stopping and it won't go all the way down, also, the "roof warning light" is constantly illuminated.

Is there something he is doing wrong, or perhaps is there something in the boot which needs to be moved in order for the roof to retract all the way?

He is really worried so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for the above, will be need to take it to a Bentley dealership to get it reprogrammed? Bentley repair costs are utterly ludicrous, going off personal experience.

I have tried google and the search facility on here but I don't seem to be getting any luck.

No offence but you don't buy a GTC without making sure these things are OK and with a flat battery too, then IMHO, with the best will in the world; he had it coming.

No offence taken, but that doesn't help him to be fair.

Take it to a good independent, the dealer will cost him a fortune... And then a bit more....

No worries, he'll make good friends with the independent over the years. Lighter wallet tho frown

A main dealer doesn't have to mean spending a fortune especially on the 3 years old plus cars, they are as keen to keep their workshops as busy as an independent, speak to the service manager and negotiate an affordable fixed cost after diagnoses, it's not that difficult, if they aren't interested then seek an independent.
