Phantom 1 Ipod & Bluetooth? Help please!

Hi,

Anybody had any experience retrofitting an iPod kit to a series 1 (2005) Phantom? I’ve had it done in the past to other cars but can’t find anything specific on the Rolls. I had a “Dension” kit fitted into a Gallardo I used to own. It essentially just plugs in where the CD changer would go. Anybody know if that would work? Is it just a BMW infotainment system, if so, one would imagine any kit that would fit that generation of BMW 7 series would work on the Phantom?

Likewise does anyone know if the 2005 Bluetooth will work with an iPhone?

I believe they can remove the CD changer and use that port as you describe. I'm not sure about the Bluetooth. Mine is a 2007 and doesn't see the iPhone 6. It's not possible to retrofit the Gubbins from a later car either.

This is a post I put on the Arnage ipod topic

I have finally got my ipod connected to my 2002 Arnage T.

My ICE man did it with a Celsus IPV connector. They do not list Bentley on their compatability charts but I believe that the one that works is the model for a Mercedes Smart Car.

It connects instead of the multi cd changer and can be fully controlled from the ipod. You can control the volume and channel change from the head unit.

As a refinement, If you set the ipod to play a playlist you can change to the next playlist up by changing disc on the head unit, but once you have played the maximum of 6 playlists you have to reset the ipod.

You can still play single discs through the head unit.

It cost £200 including fitting

I have an 2007 Phantom Drophead. I can run an ipod through the Aux input inside the glovebox but have limited functionality through he car's idrive - just volume if I remember correctly. everything else I have to control through the ipod itself. Aux socket does not charge the ipod. Car recognises an iphone 6 through bluetooth. Have not had the car out since I changed to iphone 7 but assume that will work too.
