I have just bought a 2006 Continental GT and the sat nav disc fitted will only allow partial post code entries.
If I purchase, for example, a 2015 upgrade CD will I be able to enter the entire postcode?
Thanks for your help. I am sure I will be back with more questions later

Hi Flammetta, thanks for your reply.
You are correct. Since I posted this question, I have installed an upgrade CD and you cannot enter a full postcode on mine either.
Probably the worst aspect of the car all together in my opinion. The quality of map display is poor too.

Very quiet forum this one, isn't it?rolleyes

I upgraded my 2010 Conti GT disc to a 2016 and there is no postcode entry option. In fact it is the most complicated thing to insert a destination.

This is a quiet forum compared to the Aston martin one that I have just migrated from.

Normally the new disc will update the maps and POI only.

My 2002 Arnage T had an Alpine NVE 99P unit fitted. I updated to an Alpine NVE M300P. (https://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/SingleView/NVE-M300P)

This which would work with the existing head unit etc. This unit has the facility to update the maps and software via a USB connection. Updates cost about £50. The original screen is not touch screen which is a pain and it has to be programmed via a remote but the other performance elements are what you would expect from a top of the range model.

Hi Speculatore,
I seem to be following you around, unintentionally of course.
I too, had an Aston Martin (DB9) before moving on to a Jaguar XFR and recently onto the Bentley.
As you say, the sat-nav is severely lacking in use-ability and display. Probably the poorest I've seen for a good few years.
