Does that mean it's an electrical fault with the locking system or a mechanical worn item/misalignment?
Sounds like all the typical symptoms mentioned above.
You need to slowly work through these items mentioned. Check fuses first.

This is a Bentley issue, it should be a recall but you know Bentley

I an now on my 3rd set of boot motors under warranty, I need a fourth but Bentley have asked me to wait until they do a redesign, apparently the replacement motors are failing also

I would suggest contacting Bentley and shout at them smile

Thanks for the thread on Bentley Continental boot lids just to add to the topic. Clean a grease the mechanism I used spray white grease. Open and 75% closed 10 of so times then fully open and put the lid 25% closed before pressing the close button. It now works 100%. Thanks again for the insight
