Bentley Supersport of Ferrari 599

At the NEC show in November Sporting Bears were supported by the chaps at Crewe and given a Supersport to offer Dream Rides to raise money. While there(over 100 cars each day) many Ferrari drivers came across after following me and commented "wow - which Bentley is that to handle so good" and all passengers were chuffed at its capabilities.
I drove the Bentley for a week, at the NEC over 3 days I spent a solid 6 hours a day driving it and never tired. As to the Ferarri 599, this is a different slice of motoring, in the Bentley you can have 4 people in and still have fun, while the Ferrari will always get the looks.
Good luck with your choice, why not help out the Sporting Bears when you've decided?

In any situation like this that the op finds himself in, the answer has to lie with the buyer.
You have to ask yourself the question: exactly what role will the new car take in your family? And then keep redefinining what is important to you, very closely. Balance that with the financial considerations and the answer should sort of take shape for you.
Brand images apart, it's fairly obvious one is sporting and hard and sharp and enormous fun, the other a purer GT car, easier to live with, less character to get on your nerves. I must say the Bentley is an amazingly practical beast and safe too, with all-wheel drive and that huge boot. More considerate for passenger.
But there's also something about that beautiful Italian shape and badge ... hope it's not just a question of what deal you can do and that you come back and tell us what you buy.

The Fiat example is more about ownership though. I would imagine that there aren't that many shared or common components with the parent company on a 599.

Whereas the Bentley contains a significant number of VW components and is essentially only trimmed and put together at Crewe (yes I have been round the factory in Crewe and I've also been round the factory’s in Germany where the running gear and chassis / body are made) The Ferrari shares little with other FIAT group cars, with the possible exception of some bits on various Maserati’s, but they were dribble down components, where the Ferrari had them first.
Doesn’t make the Bentley any worse a car, to the point that it was at launch, IMHO the best car yet to come out of Zwickau / Dresden / Crewe . . . . .although the image is a bit too premiership footballers Mrs for me.
This is my favourite GT, belongs to a couple of friends of mine, as does the Turbo R.
We call the Conti 'Fritz', which is quite ironic really, as the Turbo R deserves the name more than the Conti does, as Austrian born Fritz Feller was chief stylist at RR when the SZ range was being developed.

Absolutely.My daily driver is a Skoda Fabia vRS, and as everyone knows, it's a Volkswagen, it uses the same PQ24/25 platform and the same 1.4TSI/DSG as the Polo/Ibiza/A1. People often mention this, but I don't turn around and call them a loser though when they do
I have to say I love both. Having driven both and they are completely different cars. I'd still have the supersports overall. I know I've only got the GT but for a few months I was considering selling the Vette and Range to buy a supersport or 599. I settled on the GT so I could keep my Vette as I've completely got it just how I want it.
Only thing that I didnt like on the 599 was that it actually felt heavier and more difficult to play with on the twisties. Far more understeer than the Bentley. I know sounds weird and that it should be the other way around but that was how I found them on driving them back to back.
I think it will come down to personal choice at the end of the day.
