Is this a common problem and is there an easy fix. The tank was filled up (60L - my wife's own words - does it even take 60L?????)and did not show on the gauge as such. Next day it did show as being full but then after a short journey it failed to indicate properly again.

Has anyone any ideas.

Thank you

Not sure what the alphanumeric code is but it is a 2006 Mini Cooper. Perhaps you can tell me as I should know it. I know most of the BMW vehicle codes. I will make a note of it then.

R50 (cooper-one) / R52 (Convertible either one-cooper-supercharged) / R53 (Supercharged

R56

As you can see the models of the cars are very different and have totally different engines, interior, exterior etc in fact they are totally different cars

Most likely to be the sender, you will be able to measure the resistance over the switch but it may be worth having it checked as it can be a tricky job

Lets us face it most people do not go there because it is the safest place in the world. I think you just hope that you do not get caught up in someone else's accident. Everyone there is on a wing and a prayer.

It is a fabulous place with a brilliant atmosphere and a must to visit for any petrolhead. In reality the chance of crippling a motorcyclist and paying out thousands is minimal hence people take the chance.

Just a guess, but I think you meant to post this on the Nurburgring crash thread wink

Give the fuel guage a few days to sort itself out, mine did it a couple of times when I brimmed the tank.

It gradually crept up to the correct reading over a few days and never gave any bother since.

Yes, not quite sure how this got in the wrong place. Must be user error I suppose.

I am not sure if my wife is still suffering with the gauge problem but she has not said anything for a while so....
