Rear Spolier Removal - Mini One

Sorry if this is a re-post. My daughter has an 06 Mini with a leaky boot and the next step seems to be to re-seal the hi-level brake light unit.

The car has a rear spoiler so I can't get to the light without removing the spoiler. Found two bolts at each end under rubber grommets but it's still fixed on very well. They seem to be fixed by sticky pads, any suggestions of how to remove the spoiler without causing any damage?

Bit of heat should get it moving, may be a pain to get the residue off though

From memory its bonded on the whole way along and is a pain to get off.

I believe some heat and dental floss is the way - and keep your fingers crossed you dont take the paint off.
