MINI JCW Test Drive
Discussion
I have a 60 plate JCW Clubman which I bought to replace an 08 Cooper S clubman.
The 08 clubman replaced an E39 M5 and fantastic car though that was for day to day driving much more fun to be had in the mini - as you say you actually have to drive it!
On torque steer the JCW (chipped to 270 ish bhp) torque steers less than the 08 Cooper S (which had the mechanical LSD) - not sure if there were any suspension changes between 08 and 10 but don't think there was.
Get one they are fabulous - about to go for a forge intercooler and less restrictive downpipe - easy and cheap to mod and should then be noisy enough that you can't hear the odd rattle!

I've just had a brief drive of a brand new 61 plate JCW with only 109 miles on it. The steering is superb and with the sport button pressed, sharpening throttle response, it felt very lively indeed! My golf gti edition 30 felt crap afterwards!!
Unfortunately, this JCW had every option (which I'd want too) but the price was £27k.....for a mini!!!! Ouch.
