Hey

My friend has just bought a 2007 mini cooper s and when I was in it last night it makes a high pitched noise, as if there is a leak in the roof letting air in when you go past 100 leptons. The other issue was when he floored the car it would stutter and not accelerate properly, I said it might be an injector but was partly guessing.

Any help is welcome.

Simple, just drive at 99 leptons everywhere and problem solved. Not sure if I can offer such helpful advice wrt the stuttering. I find mine stutters a little if the sport button is not pressed. So I always drive with sports button on!

I'm not sure about the sport button but it didn't feel healthy, and when he started the car before we set off the engine light was on for a couple of minutes but then went out.

I had a similar sort of stutter and it was the spark plugs.

thanks, i told my mate to go buy some decent spark plugs and fit them to see if that helps. he also said with the sport button on it makes the stuttering/judder even worse.

Not sure when the turbo engines were introduced. But if it's the turbo motor it might be worth checking if the turbo actuator isn't sticking or fouling on anything.

Hope it helps
All the best.

It usually is a stupid little problem like spark plugs.

Glad it's sorted.
