Just bought the gf an 03 Cooper S, its rather good!

A few quick questions:

Is any specific oil recommended? Being BMW I assume its a Castrol EDGE of some description, although I favour Mobil1 0w-40 in my other cars, will this be ok?

Is there anything out of the ordinary required maintenance wise? Supercharger belts etc

Recommended plugs?

Any must-do modifications?

It has the 17in wheels, are 205/40/17 tyres ok?

Thanks

Tom

Check out www.minitorque.com

With regards to tyres. I am a newbie with MINIs too, but I'm told, if you're planning to ditch the run flats - which imo is a must - then its worth looking at 215/40/17s as this gives you much more choice and shouldn't affect the rolling radius too drastically.

Mobil 1 0W40 will be fine.

As above, 215/40's will give you more choice of tyres.

Enjoy!

Depends what you are looking for in regards to modifications, looks/power/handling?

Fitting a reduced pulley will bring a few extra smiles when you (oops, sorry, your girlfriend) put your foot down wink,

The oem alloys are quite heavy, some lighter aftermarket wheels?, handling will be more 'nimble'.
