Just a quick vent to say how disgusted I was that I had to buy a whole section of the trim that sits around the handbrake itself ie. the bit you hold to apply the handbrake. The piece that broke on my wife's 2006 Cooper was just the last 'faux' chrome circular part that sits closest to the end. When I spoke to BMW I was told I would have to buy the whole section which cost £20!!!!

In these times of recycling and 'green' credentials being important I could not understand why I had to buy the lot. Disgusting but bought anyway to keep 'er indoors happy.

Did you leave BMW the broken bezel part to enable them to properly recycle it using the appropriate codes that manufacturers have to include on the part?

If I was a small plastic part supplier to BMW I'd want to sell them "kits" rather than individual small components. Its just easier.

However, wait until you want a Xenon bulb. £120 and you get the ballast/socket part as well whether you need it or not.

Doesn't seem so bad to me. I would expect the handbrake handle to be sold as a single piece and £20 doesn't sound expensive to me.
