Its no surprise it's an awful time to sell both in terms of calendar and car. Thankfully ours sold, miss it already :-(

£3750 sounds like a bargain to me!

Granted mine is a very high specced works - but I was offered £10K for it recently. I decided to keep it in the end.

Great car for under £4K!!

That cars been worth £4k for over 5 months privately, it was never worth £5k to start with no matter how much they and other mini owners want it to be. It is 10 years old after all, prices have to go down.

People still buy cars at christmas...

Just to update the situation for you guys,

I advertised it again, and within 2 days the car sold. I was really please, I advertised it for £4995, and sold for £4750.

Day two a bloke came to see it, he was pleased with it but had to se another so off he went, then someone called from Coventry, asked for my address and within a few hours he was there. He paid the price stated, not much haggling, he simply said whats your best price, I said 4750 expecting him to knock off 150 for 6 months tax, but no, he whipped out the cash and took the car.

That evening the guy who did view the car eairler asked if he could come get the car, FULL ASKING PRICE! Unfortunatly for both of us the car had already gone.

Obvioulsy one sale is not the complete market, but it goes to show, a high spec car is worth good money to the right people. Yes you can get a no nav, no heated half leather seat car for 1k less, but sometimes these things make all the difference.

Thanks

What was it costing you in fuel? My gf is looking at Mini's and the S is within her price range so it's a possibility.

Depends on your driving ours is 80% around town driving we see 30-32mpg , on a long steady run i have had 43mpg. On a hoon 25mpg, All calculated by filling up, not the computer as it lies a little.

This is a standard s with no mods at all. driven quite lightly with the odd blast.

Thats pretty good for petrol driving round town. Our 1.2 fiesta would only average 30 mpg, so our JCW doing 28 is not really a bother. The only kick in the spanglies is the £260 I just spent on road tax............Insurance for us was under £300.

My R53 puts out about 35mpg on motorway and A road commute and the kick in the nuts this week was a new exhaust £800 please!!! eek

Other than that the car always put a smile on my face. biggrin

Glad to hear you got a decent price for your R53, shame you felt the need to sell though.
