Someone at work has an 02 reg Cooper S and the front left of the bonnet doesn't sit flush with the rest of the bonnet. You can push it down and it will come back up when you take the pressure off. I know the latch is there and it feels fine as when I pulled it there was tension, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I haven't had a chance to look under the bonnet yet, but will try to get a look during the day. I know the worst case senario could be that the bonnet is out of shape, but I really doubt that. Has anyone else had the same problem, if so what was the cause?

I feel like PH is my way of airing that my MCS is a complete shed, but yeah, mine does that.

I stupidly closed the bonnet when I'd left a tool resting on the headlight back plate bit. The result, the gap.

However, when I've looked at removing the bumper, the two fixings on the top of the bumper are also fairly weak and cracked so the misalignment could be down to a broken bumper.

So two solutions are:

1. Bodyshop to look at realigning bonnet.
2. New front bumper.

I had this problem it was the cable that had rusted. Hope this helps. The part was about £19.

I still haven't had a look. If I don't get a chance tonight then I'll tell the person to get it to a garage tomorrow.
