That 2-litre refers to only the Paceman and Countryman models - ALL others are 1.6
Edit: that was what I've just been told on a MiniChat online (on their site)
but ...

I have a 2012 Mini 1 (baker street) with 1.6 diesel engine in it
It has 168k on the clock, it is driven hard (pre lock down) as a learner car
When doing D/C and overtaking with them I encourage them to use full rev range going up to 65 mph in 3rd gear, then block changing to 6th
The engine is brilliant, it handles everything learners try to do to it, still on it's first clutch too!!!
teaching it delivers between 52-55 mpg, when i drive it anything upto 70 mpg depending on roads
Can't fault the engine, but am unsure if the same as a cooper engine, i would have thought they would be the same?

My Mini died about 3 weeks ago on 193k where the cam chain decided not to run true, jumped around and seized the engine bending the cam shaft.
An indi said it may cost between 5 to 6k to repair, so effectively wrote off the engine, and the car.... I got £350 for it scrap... gutted.
The cam chain is a non serviceable item so when they go....they go The scrap guy said he gets many Mini's in with the same issue although he thought I had had a good run at 293k as he's had some down as low as 60k throwing the chain....ouch... still such a waste of what had been a good car

I had a 2019 68 plate Octavia belt tensioner collapse at 41,000 miles just 8 days out of its 3 year warranty wrecking the engine...An indi said it may cost between 5 to 6k to repair, so effectively wrote off the engine, and the car.... I got 350 for it scrap... gutted.

luckily Skoda paid for a brand new engine and 90% of the labour charge
sold it ASAP to Cazoo for 1500 more than i paid for it
