As per title, very excited, I have ordered a new Mini Clubvan which should arrive mid November smile

I have attached a picture from the mini configurator web site.

I drew on the bonnet stripes, as they are not available in the configuration, but got them as a dealer option.

Looks good, and well specced (by far the best wheels on the list at the moment in my opinion). The colour looks like a pale green, very retro.

What are you planning to use it for?

I am buying it through my company so I can claim 100% of the vat back and 100% of the cost of the van against corporation tax as it is a commercial vehicle if I only use it for business. It would be used as a car to commute to and from multiple clients sites.

I dont have a need for a van as such it is just much better from a business sense financially than a company car. smile

I also have the option of using it for personal mileage but I would then have benefit in kind issues to deal with.

Looks great, and you're the first person I've seen who has ordered one biggrin

I have a Clubman, which is very practical, so the Clubvan should be great!

Hi Chris,

I hope you are not offended, but can I ask you some questions about yours. Specifically as I was told that some options that you have are unavailable on the van.

1. Is yours a conversion from a clubman or has it been factory supplied as a clubvan?

The reason I ask is yours looks like it is silver in colour and the van is only available in blue, black, green and white.

The roof and rear quarters are a different colour from the body which is also not available on the van.

I have also been told that production does not begin for another 2 weeks.

If your has been supplied as seen from the factory then I am going to complain and see if I can get mine changed, there was some options from the clubman that I wanted but could not get.

All that said and done i really like the look of yours. Particularly the chequer board effect on the side,

Barry

It looks like a Soho Clubman to me, which has just had the rear windows vinyl'd over smile

Hi all. Yes this is a Soho Clubman. I bought it in January the day before they announced the Clubvan. With the rear seats flat and a full boot liner hey presto a van ( at a fraction of the cost ) £ 15995 demo with 4000 miles on. It spends the summer in the BTCC paddock and gets lots of attention ( all good so far ). If you're not planning on carrying a lot then I can highly recommend one. Clubman with vinyl or Clubvan they are both a great piece of kit.

I thought about that but the problem was that because it still had the back seats (Even though they would not be used) it is not classed as a commercial vehicle. So i dont think it is possible to claim the cost back against corporation tax. You might be able to correct me on this?

I have just had a phone call from the dealer telling me it should be ready for delivery on week begining 26th November.

I would have liked to have gone to a dealer by now and seen one in the flesh, but it looks like the dealers are waiting on them as well frown

Not sure on the corporation tax part but I claim for mine as I'm self employed. I have see a clubvan in the flesh and it's the same as mine. It's a tough call for me as for the money for the van you can get a cooper s clubman (used one).

Just about to order a Cooper D van too in pretty much the same spec - but going for British Racing Green II with white 17" rims, white mirror caps and having the roof wrapped in white too. Have you looked into the Schnitzer power upgrade?

I was looking at getting one, but I couldn't justify the cost (even with ex-Forces discount).

I sometimes need to stop out overnight and the rear wasn't big enough to lie out straight. The rear doors don't open fully, so a forklift couldn't get close enough to load a pallet and there's a thick ridge at the rear of the loading bay. The inside is not utilitarian enough for me, I scuffed up the demo in the dealership just getting in and out of the back. It would be wrecked in a month.

A shame, really, as I would have liked one. Instead, I'm considering getting a 2nd hand clubman as a replacement for the 330 and the Smart.

To be honest the "non utilitarian" look. Was the reason I went for it. 95% of the time I will just be using it for getting to customers sites. On the odd ocassion I may need to carry stuff but I would not dream of loading anything other that fairly light, non dirty, keep it looking nice stuff. If I ever really need anything more heavy duty in it, I will use the trailer (hence the reason for the tow bar)

I dont think it will cut it as a working van for most poeple uless it is light duty only.

http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/mini/

and the Mini D power upgrade is at:

http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/acs_kpl/hp_kpl/m...

ACS are BMW type approved so warranty remains intact smile

My company has a close working relationship with ACS UK here in Norfolk so its a no-brainer for us when the new van arrives driving
Current delivery for a customer spec van is around March time so got to wait a little yet frown
But yes am excited really. My first car was actually a mini pick up with a 1275GT engine in it, then when I started my own car repair business in '87 my first van was.....A mini van !

Do the parts need to be supplied and fitted by a Schnitzer approved (and therefore BMW approved) agent to maintain the warranty?

Alpina warranty on BMWs is reduced from 3 to 2 years, does Schnitzer keep the 3yr/100,000 mile warranty?
