Out of curiosity what would people think us more fun a cooper s turbo or a older supercharged one. Also in real terms is there much performance difference?

The general consensus is a supercharged is more fun but slower. Turbo is faster and more mature.

I've just moved from a cooper to a supercharged s and I am chuffed with it. It's a real drivers car.

Having owned both variants, I agree with this. Lower dn the supercharged performance is the same - at the top end the supercharger gets a little wheezy. But as an overall package the supercharger is a superior driving tool.

I've had an 04 cooper s softtop and I'm potentially looking at one as and option to replace my tamora and I was wondering if the car had moved forwards.

Also is a jcw much of an mprovement???

Hmm, i got both, there very different ways,
Supercharged one is the most fun! IMO
The turbo car is more refined and looses a bit of feel.
JCW is many better :-)

I see there are two threads the same!!!

Supercharged model is way more fun, and cheap to modify, but at a cost of fuel.
The Turbo is much more refined and suits a boring brown suit type of driver (joking) smile

Turbo for sensible drivers
Supercharged for nutters
