My wife's Cooper S Clubman - only 6 mths old - needs a new windscreen after being cracked by a stone. I have it booked with Autoglass on Monday. It is a heated screen with rain sensor. Is there anything I should look out for with the fitting of the new screen? Does the trim at the side of the windscreen have to be removed to fit the new screen? No horror stories please - I have a nervous disposition !!

I had my R56 screen replaced by Autoglass last year. I asked my insurance company to cover the cost of an OE screen (i.e. MINI branded) rather than an OEM screen as I'd read a few unfavourable comments on here from Glassman and others about OEM screens. My insurance company didn't have any issues with this.

Autoglass Oxford did a brilliant job of the fitting, but the fitter did comment that he'd done loads of them before for staff at the factory. He replaced both A pillar trims for me as well.

Just had windscreen replaced by Autoglass Brighton. Arrived on time, took less than an hour and fitted OE screen. Superb job.
