Why???? I hate them they stop you from seeing bikes and emergency vehicles so well. Any way look at halfords or just leave your side lights on.

Can't help but agree with DanGT I'm afraid.

The intensity of some of them in low light is way too much and they irritate the hell out of me.
If someone can't see your car, they won't see your lights either IMHO.
Who designed those damn squiggles on Range Rovers? mad

It has taken a little bit of protection away from us bikers as well as, even with headlights on, we don't stand out as well as we used to.

We had a fad of compulsory dim/dip headlights some years ago but that didn't last.
They were actually handy in town at night when you didn't need full dipped headlights.

Same here. Just turn your side lights on.

You used to be able to get Halo LED side lights for 1st gen and so on newministuff used to sell them.(if not ebay) You can also get a headlight with DRL for 1st gen mini but halos are cheaper and look better.

If you want to run with lights on, then the later ('05 & '06) facelift 1st Gens have daytime running light switches, so you can leave the headlights on (not sidelights) and they will switch on/off with the ignition.
