We had no problems with the sunroof on our 2002 MINI One (owned for six years)

I have had some issues with the sunroof on my 2007 MINI Clubman - but nothing more than a bit of a clean and grease.....

The roof on my wife's Cooper was starting to creak so it's had a god clean and grease over the weekend and is much improved now.

I don't know of one going wrong but if they do they are very difficult to fix. The only problem we had with our car was water. The pipes that drain the water away leaked. I did fix it but a bit of a pain.

bmw can't do sunroofs... fact

I've just had my r56 panoramic sorted by cayman autos in dorking (picked it up yesterday). they fit a refurbished cassette which is then warranted for parts and labour for 12 months... this brings the price from an eye-watering circa £3k+VAT at a mini stealer down to a slightly more reasonable circa £1k inc VAT.

My mini is now up for sale, so whoever buys it will benefit from my wallet-bashing, but hey ho, you can't sell a car with problems.

The panoramic on my '54 X3 packed up just before I picked it up from the car sales place.
Fair do's to them, they got it stripped down and rebuilt for about £800 and, so far, so good.

There is discussion across all Mini and BMW forums about the damn things.
I don't miss having one on my JCW although it is nice to have the light.
