It might look silly, but thought I'd post a pic of this particular change,

Who says they have to have centre exit systems?

That looks like the same end cap that BMW supplied me for my wife's Cooper. Bigger diameter than the original one.
I guess he bought the S badge off ebay..

Point taken but why or how is the wrong silencer on the car or is it an engine change or upgrade.
As far as I know, ALL S's have the central twin silencers.

Looks good. I thought about one balling mine and going for that look. I'd want to take the s badges off and go front mount instead to make it more of a sleeper, I really can be bothered with all that though.

All standard Cooper S cars do have centre exit, which is the point.

I know people will wonder exactly as suggested, is it a One or Cooper with a badge, or just assume it is, and perhaps fewer will think it is an S immediately.

This system must weigh a quarter of the original, the car is actually a 2005 35,000 mile 'S' I'm selling, but the left silencer had split probably partly due to significantly increased power as well as corrosion. I wanted to try a right exit system anyway, and wasn't going to sell it with a leaking one.

The outlet isn't an end cap but is 3" and doesn't really look it in the picture. The link pipe is the same as the original MCS and the result, with straight through absorption design with a resonator behind the catalyst, is pretty loud. Probably too much so for me, but the noises on overrun are way better, crackling and popping, it's growly/boomy though just off idle and low speed acceleration, but changes on the cam, and then things improve in my opinion. At idle it's actually pretty quiet. Others like it more than me, but I don't like loud car systems that much.

I've only used it three times so not used to it, and may still add or remove stuff until sold. The intercooler has only been on a month. I wouldn't use a front mount as the a/c is to be retained. Aside from these two things other changes were unseen. I don't know the power from any tests, but I know how much it's changed, it has to be significantly over 200, probably 210-220 I've no idea.

It is LSD equipped, 595RSR's, Chrono, Sports Plus, Chilli, All leather, Visibility, and have had the rims apart with no broken bolts, and refurbished first as original with diamond turned rim, but changed them again to sparkle finish by Pristine Wheels.

I may keep it and do other stuff I have planned, but have other things going on. I also have a set of on car adjustable coilovers left over from demo still in a box. I kept them thinking I may use them on something to demonstrate an installation rather than just loose, but never bothered on this car as it was already nice.

If I get a chance I may record the sound and see what thoughts there are, I guess it's not too dissimilar to a Borla currently.

So what other mods have you done? Sounds like a nice MCS.

So far just enough to transform it to a fast road state, but wanted it all invisible, which it was until the other day haha, so a K&N filter, GTT pulley and the intercooler you see here, and a Kent cam, not the one on the website, also an Autologic remap.

If I keep it i'll do the other bits I have in mind, like the alloy flywheel, 1320 map possibly with 550 injectors, I already have a head being looked at by Slark cylinder head preparation, and a Maniflow manifold possibly, but they won't respond to enquiries very well, so most likely it will end up with Janspeed.

I might strengthen the engine with ARP studs and bolts, add a degree cam wheel, and possibly a degree crank damper, plus look into Carillo rods or similar. To be fair i'll probably let it go before long, only bought it to discreetly alter when it had 27k and had lived on Anglesea all it's life with an older lady owner, but I really like it, best one I've ever driven and it looks ace. The inside, with Chrome trim and the Chrono pack makes all the difference complementing the leather etc. I don't really use it, and have twelve vehicles currently, so selling this one will stop me buying stuff for a car I don't use lol. The exhaust was an experiment, fed up with the stupid money some want for the twin box systems that often don't sound that good and look far too heavy for the application. This one is really light, and a firm fit, and should stand up to proper use if I ever took it somewhere like the Ring or Oulton/Ty Croes etc. Oh, and bigger brakes are on the list, as the tyres need them to match!

So far it's been to the south coast or London, and North Wales at weekends. 7k in 18 months, sorn'd now.
