Do Mini offer Individual Paint like BMW do ? My wife once saw an Electric Green car Mini park Lane which she loved....doesn't look like it's a standard colour. Is it possible to get other paint colours apart from the standard?

Four grand ! Wow. Mind that looks like an especially expensive paint job ? Looks like some of those TVR's a few years ago.

Insurance company wouldn't like it if it's ever in an accident. You'd pretty much need to repaint the whole car so as the repair doesn't stand out a mile I'd reckon.

It's not offered on the configurator but I have seen some new Minis where the dealer has customised it to order. For example, blacking the chrome or extending the paint onto the wheel arches.

That might be why it's so expensive compared to Audi as the dealer would order it in one of the £0 option flat colours and then takes it to a repair shop for a strip and respray?

Yep..I think that's how it was done. Car ordered would have been black and then taken in for the paint respray. I guess that's why they charge so much.

The flip paint was no issue with the insurance company. It can be resprayed if it gets damaged and surprisingly not the whole car. How they blend it is beyond me......Just don't ask for a touch up pen though.

I used to work at a dealership and the only options we had if someone wanted a non standard colour was to respray at a local paint shop or wrap the car with vinyl.

Mini do not offer Individual paint, and I'd be very surprised if they painted that R53 above, that's not even a BMW individual colour.

Though as above dealerships do wrap cars for customers, my local dealership has a matte pink roadster, had to remove the wrap as it wasn't selling.

The car in the OP is/ was an option on the R53 shortly after/ at launch I believe. One of our customers wanted it done again and even after pleading with the factory it was a no.

I'm guessing this was available for the R53 but is no longer an option. Worth asking as some dealers may know of alternate ways . As said point in direction of a respray maybe.
Heres the invoice, i dont know if it was nationwide but scotthall mini in leeds did this.

MINI used to offer 3 or 4 flip paints. They discontinued them in 06 when the R56 came out.

MINI park lane did offer dreamline flip paint on the R56 Was exclusive to them and was 8K or something stupid.

Park Lane do wrap some cars and some are painted as they are Owned by BMW they have more options of what to sell. If you have the Money they will do what you want. Iv seen US exclusive editions for sale from Parklane.

Beyond me why anyone would pay the daft money on a colour....hang on its why my wife insisted on it lol
TBH I was surprised that original invoice was in the fsh pack. It did however allay my fears the paint job wasn't just a back st job. As even i hadn't heard mini doing it till that point. I guess that's why the original owner kept it in the pack. total invoice was just short of £28k!!!! Yikes ...thats JCW territory

Yes they did... and that is an R52, not an R53, as it's a convertible wink
