Hello.
I have recently bought a mini one convertible after a few weeks of getting to grips with the car I have come to realise the issues I am having with the clutch are not because I am a fussy woman; as my husband keeps telling me. I would appreciate any sound advice from someone who can steer me in the right direction.
1. When slowing down and trying to put the car in to first gear i have to double D clutch or it will not budge.
2. When slowing down and trying to go in to reverse i have to double D clutch. The car will let me go half way in to reverse and then it sticks. If I get fooled in to thinking that I am fully in reverse gear i get the horrific grinding noise.
So do I need a new clutch?
Or is it the gear box?
The car has on a few occasions juddered and skipped on the road when I have pulled away in first gear.
The car has done 50,000 miles
My last vehicle was a ford ranger turbo diesel twin cab so im not a speed freak and no matter how carefully I drive it is still being a pain.confused

Sounds like the clutch. Is worth having a quick check that the system dose not need bleeding but that is much less lightly. Do get it done sooner rather than later as it will give you a better chance of not having to have the fly wheel replaced.

You have a double D clutch? That'll be why you have a problem, the boobs are too big laugh

Seriously though, it does sound like a clutch problem but worth getting someone to check it over as gearbox problems aren't unknown on these cars.

p.s. It's double declutch wink
