2013 Mini CooperS - unlocking the door while engine on?

Hi There, Is there any way to unlock the passenger door while the engine is on? I was collecting a friend from a busy place yesterday and it seemed daft to have to stop the engine and take the key fob out just to let him in, is there a short cut/another way? Thanks in advance of your replies.

If you are in the car, two ways:
1. Double-tap the internal door handle. The first pull unlocks and the second opens.
2. Use the unlock switch on the lower bank of switches on the centre console; central toggle - has a padlock symbol.

ETA: (1) does that door only , while (2) does all doors & boot.

Or disable the door locking after driving off feature, no need to wonder how to unlock then.
