...and they've improved the car just as I'd hoped. The original Dunlop SP Sport 01 RFTs were showing their age a bit with a lack of grip in all conditions, plus tremendous road noise on rough surfaces.

I've only covered around 20 miles on the Michelins but they already appear to grip much better, the road noise is there but not as severe etc. Over bumps, the car is more controlled and it does't sound like the wheels are going to come through the floor!

Around a sharp bend earlier, I did feel the tread move around a bit but then I'm not surprised as there's so much tread from new! More than 6mm I'd say. So all in all, very happy so far and I'd expect they'll improve as I put more miles on them..

I have the, on my GP & they are amazinnnng. I actually thought I had made a mistake buying the GP because the handling was terrible on the run flats. Big thumbs up from me too!

I was exactly the same. I remembered my last one being harsh over bumps but this one seemed fine in the south of england; then we drove back up north and the roads seem MUCH worse up here! The tyres have solved all that though luckily.

I've just purchased EBC discs and pads all-round for it.

My favourite tyre on my r56 cooper s. Good choice.

I found the supersports work best on a low tyre pressure.

Something like 28psi all round on the 17*205 standard fitting.

Higher PSI made them more likely to torque steer and to be twitchy.

Once you start zooming about you generate some heat and extra PSI anyway but a starter cold pressure of 28-29 seems to be the best for grip and stability if you drive the car on a mix of motorway, A road and then fast country road.

Cheers

Very good tip, thanks. I am noticing the torque steer is much mor pronounced so it makes sense. I'll drop 5 psi at a time and try it.

Are you now carrying a tyre weld type kit and compressor?

My Dunlop 01 RFTs are nearing the end of their life on my R56 MCS and I'm tempted by the Super Sports.
