R53 parking sensor issue

I have a 2005 R53 Cooper S works with the rear parking sensors. Recently on selecting reverse I have been getting a long continuous beep for about 5 seconds but the sensors themselves have stopped working. Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so is it an easy fix?

Pretty much everyone I suspect.
I think a code reader will tell you which one has gone.
My wife's Cooper does the same but I am struggling to get the bumper off as my bad back makes it painful to work that low down.

New MINI ones are horrendously expensive but I got one from a breaker for £33.
I got a non OEM kit fitted to my JCW for the same price as one sensor.

If you get your ear down to the sensors you can tell which one is duff, I forget which way it is but I expect it'll be the quiet one, they 'should' make a very faint buzz when the car is in reverse.
