R56 Cooper S - Alarm bleep-bleep!

We bought a used 2012 R56 Cooper S for my wife which has an audible bleep-bleep when locking and would like to silence.
Any idea where are they normally installed? I cannot find it to at least get a make/model and Google.
According to local MINI dealer it appears to be a non-factory additional alarm therefore they can do nothing. Not even tell which make/model. Pretty poor as I would expect them to be able to at least point to it. That said I can't bloody find it!
The garage we brought from have tried but cannot help - they are a Vauxhall dealer north of Newcastle and we are on the south coast and without one of their guys looking not easy and that's fair enough. Previous owner, who traded it in, hasn't got back to them to help.
If all else fails will take to a local alarm specialist but over the phone they have suggested a 2hr job and £150.... Seems excessive to me.
