Hello,
I have just bought a Mini Cooper S 07 plate which has been upgraded from a bmw garage to a john cooper works 211bhp. I have the authenticity certificate.

I am really struggling to find an insurance company who understand what I am talking about.

The company I bought the car from told me to insure it as a John cooper works and then add the reg after but my V5 says it is a Mini Cooper 6, so needs to be a modification but then I am back to square one trying to find someone who understands what I am talking about.

Can anyone PLEASE help.

Adrian Flux will insure a modified Mini, some others will if you know the exact mods. JCW kit isn't enough of a description probably.

If you have an 07 Mini Cooper s it is not a factory JCW or FJCW as they are referred to. FJCW's are 210bhp. What you have is a stage 1 kit JCW ( comes with a certificate) this was fitted by the dealer to new cars before the FJCW was available. Yours is 192bhp stage 1. Insure it as a cooper S with the JCW stage 1 tuning kit. Most insurers will get it.
