Anyone know where to get good price high flow air filter and some spark plugs, either iridium or standard?

Is there any exhaust mod for the GP that's worth doing?

A GP will have the JCW airbox which is fine as it is. Else, something like this would be good, I'm about to do something very similar once the car is back together - Hybrid airbox for a tenner

Plugs can be purchased from 1320MINI, about £8 each for the BCR8ES ones. NGK are regarded as the best, colder rated plugs are recommended for cars with reduced pulleys.

GP exhaust is spot on as it is, although a sport cat or tubular manifold would release some more noise I can't remember if the JCW exhaust has a resonator or not, just removing that will make it quite a bit louder (I have a Milltek non-res, it makes quite a racket even with the standard manifold/downpipe).

The air filter that some may recommend, is an ITG foam filter, which is currently on sale for £39 at Vecchio engineering, and is a direct swap in two minutes, just remember to slide the rear of the air box lid rearwards to disengage the lugs. Ignore all advice to rip the guts out of the airbox that control the flap, it won't likely make more power at all.

You don't need 8's if it is standard and came with 7's, they're already colder than a standard S.

I wouldn't bother with exhausts at all unless you want to decat it, I don't believe they gain you any power, they may lose some, and if you're considering a decat, try it before you put a catback system on, as it may be too loud perhaps, as above with the airbox, try to avoid hacking the system to remove a resonator, it is noise only.

If you want to release power (and better economy) from it, invest in a visit to 1320 perhaps for a proper tune.
