I need some help. im looking for a cooper S or JCW as a daily run around. I found a great looking JCW cooper S through a dealer it's from 2004 with 50,000 miles on the clock. It's on at £6,500. Now, I put the price into what car valuation thing and it came up with circa £3000. Who do I believe? The car has full dealer device history and all the right signs of a well maintained vehicle, but I am no mechanic so are There issues I should look out for? All tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Nice JCW cars bear no resemblance to the 'valuation' guides and will go for much more.

I am not sure if it is because the 'JCW' elements were officially options at the time, so the guides just show the value of a regular Cooper S.

To put in perspective, I bought a JCW mini a few years ago which listed at over £30K new - compared to around £15K for a MCS. This would ultimately follow the same path as the years go by.

You could probably knock a few hundred off that but sounds about the right ballpark to me. The obvious thing to do is to compare its price to that of similar cars for sale

I paid that 2 years ago for my 55 plate JCW, had 34k on the clock at the time and 2 owners. Chilli pack but no HK stereo (my aftermarket is waaay better anyhow) and no pan roof which I would have liked.
All the price guides I've seen and WBAC sites seem to only value it as a Cooper S rather than a JCW.
