I need some advice the mrs mini cooper s 2003 has just sprung up with an intermitten Abs and low pressure light.
I took it to a mechanic today and the lights stayed off - she drove it home and it lit up like a Christmas tree

Anyone had this?
Thanks

Could be a number of things. Easiest fix is a potential sensor, worse case is an ABS hydro pump.

Most common cause (and cheapest fix) is a wheel speed sensor going south - or possibly just a bit of crud on said sensor.

I'd get that replaced and take it from there

It could also be an electrical fault / broken wire / damaged loom / etc.

It does happen

I had the abs sensor changed that was showing up on the fault code reader. It's still doing it. I think there's a loom issue as mentioned. I've got another garage looking at it Friday as I've lost faith in the the first garage.

Not conversant with the mini but have you checked for any play/wear in the wheel bearing

Corroded / split reluctor ring is a strong contender.

Unfortunately none of the above. So far they have changed the sensor and bearing carrier.
I've got an electrician coming out next week.
They think it may be the ecu.

That was mentioned by the electrician. I was just about to sell the bloody car and this sprung up.

Hi, have you checked for a slow puncture?
If the tyre pressure drops, you will get the low pressure light and sometimes the ABS light as it's detecting different wheel speeds..
