Hi,

My F56 Cooper SD is just over 15K miles / 9 months old and due its first service. There's a Halliwell Jones dealership in both Chester and Warrington but they look to have horrible reviews.

Anyone any other recommendations?

Thanks,

I would call one of them and ask them all sorts of questions to re-assure yourself. Have you visited either centre even out of curiosity?

I haven't tried either, just read some not particularly great reviews and even negative posts on their Facebook pages from customers. I rang Warrington and the lady huffed and puffed as she took down my details, then had problems entering my address and seemed genuinely put out by the call. I hung up after another huff and puff as my postcode was apparently invalid.

I rang Crewe BMW on Wednesday. Two minutes later the car's booked in Saturday at 08:00.

I've had my mini serviced at HJ in Warrington a few times and have nothing but praise for them. Depending on how close you are they will come and collect your car and then drop it off the same day. The last time I was there just before Christmas I decided to wait as it was only a 2 hour service. There is a large M&S a couple of miles away so I decided to go and do my Christmas food shopping while I waited. HJ paid for the taxi there and back! Whenever the car is returned its always immaculate.

People generally only write reviews to rant about what they consider to be poor service rather than how good it was.

To be honest I'd probably have taken in there regardless, it was more the person on the phone that put me off. That said, I think it's a remote call centre who deal with lots of garages who were responsible for taking the call.

Oh well, I'll worry about it in another year!

I've used both HJ Warrington and Williams in Liverpool for both of my Minis. I always find HJ to treat the customer like an inconvenience, whereas Williams in Liverpool are good to deal with. The lads in the service department are knowledgeable and it's walkable to Liverpool city centre (or they will pay for your taxi - up to £15).

Just my experience and I'm a little late replying. But HJ Chester is a horrendous place, they are all so stuck up and do treat you like an inconvenience. Would never ever set foot back in there. Williams in Liverpool in future...
