My r53 checkmate

Hi. I have been on the forum a while now but recently downsized from my dirty derv e46 to a mini cooper s with the JCW toys.

Thought I would share a few pics of it

Not the best photo in the world this as it's on my phone but these are such comfy seats!


Hopefully now I have something worthy of piatonheads forum, I won't look out of place at some meets lol.

Looks better without the usual Checkmate steering wheel/seat combo - I was never keen on the colours of them.

Also pretty rare I'd imagine with the JCW kit & brakes

I drove it up to castle combe yesterday in the horrid weather and it was as comfy as my old e46, with the added bonus of being a lot more fun at the end of the drive.

Are there any mini dedicated forums, possibly south west ones?

I nearly bought a checkmate with jcw, think it was one of only 7 on the road at the time so rare and this one didn't even have the nice sets the op's does. Nice find.

Great spec with the Pano Roof too. My perfect R53 would be a Checkmate, I'd even probably have one over a GP

Very nice. I used to have a checkmate. It didn't have any jcw bits or those seats but was still great fun. I can only imagine how good yours is.

I massively regret getting rid of that car.
