Yesterdays post has helped us decide petrol is the way forward for us, and tonight were off to look at one and if its as described we'll be having it.
Its a 2008 cooper with 42k on and 1 owner from new. Has Chilli pack and light pack as an upgrade thats listed though I can see more upgrades than they have listed. Its up for £5500, I'm happy at that price but wondered what you all thought of it?

Ok so been and looked at it and it's great, odd mark here and there but ok generally, loads of toys on it.

Engine light was on, not there previously and seemed genuine, he's going to get that looked at. Really bad was my RAV4 broke down when we set off, my dad drove is leaving my diagnostic tool reader at home as its on the RAV4 glove box, double whammy.
Knocking from rear, plenty of it, sounds like bushes, quick Google says it's common fault. Question is how much cano expect it to cost to work out how much to knock off price.
Get these problems sorted and I'll take it, 1 owner with 40k is not to be sniffed at.

Personally I would be wary - there are lots of cars for sale, so look a few others.
With the previous advice about the engines on these cars, the fact that the engine light is now on - much to the seller's surprise - would be enough for me to walk away.
Suspension bushes do seem to be susceptible, but this will take you over your £5K budget to fix - I would have thought a couple of hundred to replace.
