Classic Mini Revival - MOT

Hi all,

Long time without posting here. I am finally in a position to revive and use the mini again. It has been SORN for circa 5years now, but as some of you will remember it was always a rolling restoration, the engine is brand new (less than 3000miles) and some places have survived well, and others not so well; but that's to be expected!

Generally speaking most of the attention required is cosmetic (although ideally needing a new front end). However, there is a small hole in the front-right sill. My question is; is this an MOT failure? I'm looking to put it through an MOT and see what needs attention.

Yes probably, And it's probably worse than it looks, it always is.

I'm in the same boat funnily enough, my car has been sitting in my garage for about 3/4 years unused and I'm looking to get it back on the road this summer although mine was a working vehicle before I parked it up rather than a rolling resto like yours. I sheared a ball joint on the front right 4 years ago and ripped the front corner off. Got it back to the garage with a temporary repair on the suspension. My son was born a few months later and all my free time vanished!

My initial list is the obvious suspension repair, the puddle of oil underneath it (I suspect the gear linkage) all the rubber bushes probably need replacing, full service (oil, filter, plugs, probably brake pads for good measure)

I might get mine towed to the MOT centre and then have a list to work through.

Sure, I'm also thinking there's probably more than the eye can see! I genuinely think only this is holding me back from MOT!
