Supercharger pretty loud

Ouch, belts was my initial guess. Is the engine an interference engine? What is the damage now??

These are chain driven, I guess he means the aux/charger/alternator belt.

Yeah it's the belt that drives alternator, water pump & supercharger.
We wasn't sure if it was chain driven or not. Didn't chance it and towed it to the garage.
We found the belt on the way home still intact.

£106 later and hopefully all is fixed. New belt and idler pulley. Picking it up later so fingers crossed
the whine has gone.

Success, everything is normal and the only whine is from the S/C. Can even now hear the exhaust note.
