Hi, am new to the forum but believe there are some superb experts here always looking to help someone out.

Need advice on a used Mini I might buy privately in three months time from a friend. We're just looking to agree a fair price so am after a ball park valuation based on it being in excellent condition, with balance of a 5 year service pack remaining and the following spec listed below including a lot of extras. Appreciate I'm not posting pictures to help but it is immaculate and well looked after.

All help really appreciated. Initially with zero knowledge we said c. £12,500 - £14,500 but agreed we could be hugely out, which I think we are, and that we'd simply get a written up professional valuation from someone so that both parties are happy - how do we go about that? Mini dealers are not interested as you'd expect.

What Car came up with c. £9,500 so I basically in my head have added £500 - £1,000 for the Sat Nav, PDC and Seat Heating and other extras so think £10,000 - £10,500 is a fair price?

Mini One 5 door hatch 1.2, petrol
• Registered Feb 2015 but 64 numberplate
• 6,300 miles
• Purchase price new £19k (which includes £4,400 extras listed below)
• Blazing Red, cloth firework carbon black/carbon/black
Options (c. £4,400)
• Automatic gearbox
• MINI navigation system
• MINI connected
• Visual boost radio
• Front seat heating
• Front centre armrest
• Rear view mirror, auto-dimming
• Mirror caps in body colour
• Heated front windscreen
• Chrome line exterior
• Model designation deletion
• Pepper pack (sport steering wheel, 15" Heli spoke wheels in silver, velour floor mats, passenger seat height adjustment, storage compartment pack, MINI excitement pack, rain sensor with auto headlight activation, automatic air conditioning, interior lights pack)
• Park assist package (front & rear PDC, park assist)

Thank you for your thoughts

If you know the registration number, you could act as if you're looking to sell if on A/T and they'll give you a general idea on value. Also, as a worst case valn, try WBAC. They'll at least give you a broad guide although it won't pick up all the spec.

I think your estimate of £10-10.5k is a fair price. Just in the process of buying a Cooper 5 dr so have been looking at these things.

I bought a Mini 1 1.6 diesel 2012 (Baker street (has many extra's)) from a main dealer with 7500 on the clock 14 months old, priced new at 18,500 for 13,500. it had the tlc services to come

It still smelled new. i was happy with the deal.(it now has 96500 on the clock!)

What matters is what deal you are happy with. About 10k for a hardly used 19k car new looks a deal to me, you would have to pay a shed load more from a dealer.....but look around, there are hundreds/thousands of Mini's for sale (common as muck!) and see if your happy, if you are strike the deal.

The down side to these cars are
small fuel tank (reduced range....I get about 450-470 miles a tank.....your is petrol so expect 300-350)
spare wheel or not?
no leg room in back so definately a 2 person car, unless rear passengers have no legs
boot is very very small

Having said that, as a second car, it is great fun to drive, I have had no problems with mine.....enjoy!
