Thanks for clarifying the Nav status, I'd misunderstood the new 'new' Nav wasn't the same as that on the Clubman/Countryman.
I thought the nav the F56/F57 will get at LCI is the same as that currently fitted in the Clubman. Is this not the case?

Hmmmm. Is now a bad time to order a hatch? What do we think happens to discount levels with a facelift - I've got a good deal on the table at the moment including a strong PX offer, weighing up waiting for LCI or not..

If you're happy with the deal go ahead with it I'd say. LCIs don't affect the risidual very much and it is at least 6 months away and your part exchange value will drop anyway.

Just to clarify, the current standard Nav on the clubman and the new countryman is the same as the optional Nav on the 55,56 & 57 currently.
The media pack on the JCW clubman and the new Countryman is the new system which does not include Apple car play.
I predict that the LCI hatch and conv will have this new system currently available in those other cars come facelift time and not an all new system with CarPlay included.
Just my prof opinion mind ; )

I was looking around a standard Clubman S at the weekend with Media Pack XL and it had the newer nav - I don't think it was a JCW but I guess it could have been.

I suspect it's the same system as the NBT Evo system found in the current generation BMW's but the skin Mini have used for it makes it feel quite similar to the existing system, though it was very snappy.

If the LCI is 6 months away I'm not fussed - however the R56 LCI was June 2010..

Just to show you the rear sensors.... Hope this video works.

I've never had a car that doesn't turn off the proximity tone when you come out of reverse gear.

How silly glad the front & rear ones don't do that

They don't always turn off mine didn't when I parked today I've a theory my sensors have a automatic activation setting when it feels to close have you tried disabling it (or is it not a option in your settings)

I wouldn't want to turn off the tone completely - it is quite useful.

I don't have a button to deactivate the sensors once I've finished parking, you only get that if you spec the front sensors too.

If you dig into the settings mine have a auto activating feature eg whenever the car feels the need to come on not just when im in reverse its (ive parked with no sensors & as ive returned to leave they turn on as soon as I start my engine)

I wonder if the sensors think the required (although no switch to turn them off is annoying)

It's well known within MINI circles.

The LCI will be for the 2018 model year, which always arrives late in the prior year (typically September), so September 2017.

There will be (confirmed items only, no rumours):

Revised turbo design - 3-5% power gains across the range (not JCW), similar gains in efficiency.
Dr Interceptor, any more info on LCI dates? Also how come the JCW won't get a power bump?

You won't get any more info really now until it finally 'drops' - I'd still wager on the last quarter of this year though - Sept/Oct.

JCWs never get a massive power gain, when the R56 went from N14 to N18 engines, the Cooper S gained 9hp from 174 to 184hp, whereas the JCW gained just 3, from 208 to 211.

I think we'll stick with 231hp until the 'GP' halo run-out model. They could bump it to 235, but in reality it would make zero difference.
